About Daniel Turner

Experience

Throughout his 20 year career, Mr. Turner has specialized in all aspects of employment law. Accordingly, Mr. Turner has handled hundreds of cases involving claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination and failure to accommodate for both employees and employers across the State of California. In addition, Mr. Turner has extensive experience in wage and hour matters as he routinely litigated wage and hour claims of all sizes, including class actions involving several thousand class members.

Because he has represented employees and employers throughout his career, Mr. Turner understands the complex dynamics of an employment mediation and has a unique perspective regarding the obstacles preventing the parties from resolving their dispute. As a result, Mr. Turner has the substantive knowledge and practical experience required to craft creative solutions to a wide-variety of employment-related disputes. In addition, Mr. Turner understands the time and resources the parties dedicate to preparing for mediation and will exhaust every possible path to settlement throughout the mediation process.

Mr. Turner is a Certified Panel Mediator with the United States District Court, Central District of California, a Pro-Bono Panel Mediator with the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and performs mediations with the Center for Dispute Resolution. As part of his mediation training, Mr. Turner completed “Mediating the Litigated Case” and “STAR: A Systematic Approach to Mediation Strategies” at the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine School of Law.

Prior to working as a mediator, Mr. Turner sharpened his dispute resolution skills by coaching his son’s various sports teams and by serving as Chairman of the Rules Committee for Wilshire Warriors Pony Baseball for several years.

Having worked with dozens of employment mediators over 42 years, it was evident to me within a few hours that Dan is elite. His preparation, analysis, and interpersonal and problem-solving skills were at the highest level. We did not believe our client’s case could be settled. We were surprised when it did. Dan’s creativity, ability to gain the confidence of both sides, follow-up, and persistence were the lynchpins.
